Eldri (84) broke her hip - see how the AssiStep stair aid helped her

The stair aid AssiStep became a valuable home aid for Eldri, who suffered a hip fracture. During her rehabilitation, she had to learn how to climb the stairs again.
Moved up into the light
Eldri, 84, from Gjerdrum, always enjoyed knitting, and often sits in her living room with her knitting gear. But after falling and suffering a hip fracture, climbing the stairs by herself became difficult.
- “The stair aid AssiStep was very good to have then, because I didn’t have to sit downstairs in the dark. I came up to the light instead, where it’s easier to see my knitting gear.”
Aid to keep living at home
It was originally Olav, Eldri’s husband who had stair walking difficulties.
- “We contacted the municipal occupational therapist to make accommodations to our house so we could keep living at home. We were able to try a stair lift, but the stair aid AssiStep was so much better for us, so we chose that. Because then we could climb the stairs ourselves!”
Maintaining walking fitness is important. And both Olav and Eldri have put the AssiStep stair aid to good use.
“It’s been phenomenal. I wouldn’t have been back on my feet so soon without it, so I’m fond of it.”
